Nineteen mobile air defense groups deployed in Northern Ukraine to protect critical infrastructure

This was announced by Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on Telegram, as seen by Ukrinform.

In the northern directions of Ukraine’s defenses, on Naiev’s initiative, the setting up of mobile anti-aircraft groups is gaining momentum.

According to the Commander, at the first stage, 19 such groups were created based on Ford F250 and Ford F350 trucks, adapted to combat conditions. They will protect the sky both on the approaches to Kyiv and over the populated areas of the north and northwest of Ukraine.

"Mobile fire units are already protecting approaches to critical infrastructure facilities in Volyn, as well as strategic facilities in Sumy region," Naiev said.

The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that today, another batch of off-road vehicles capable of moving quickly over challenging terrain and hitting air targets - including the Iranian-made Mohajer-6 and Shahed 136 UAVs - was handed over to experienced crews.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 15, air defense units of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade destroyed five Russian Lancet kamikaze drones.
