Zelensky to Ramstein meeting participants: "You and I have to speed up"

President Volodymyr Zelensky called on international partners to speed up decision-making on the supply of weapons to Ukraine, noting that time works in Russia's favor.

He stated this while addressing the participants of the 8th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Ramstein, Germany, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Zelensky called those present a coalition of victory creators, and expressed gratitude for the help in the fight against the enemy, but noted that "a hundred thanks does not mean a hundred tanks" and hundreds of words cannot be used against Russian artillery or against missiles from which peaceful Ukrainians must be protected.

Zelensky emphasized the time factor. "Do we have a lot of time? No. Terror does not allow a discussion... Time remains a Russian weapon, we must speed up," the president stressed.

He expressed confidence that the participants in the conference do not want such a world order for their children, which Russia is trying to impose on everyone. Russia is amassing its last remaining forces, trying to convince everyone that “hatred can be stronger than the world.”

“That is why you and I have to speed up… Evil and hatred will always lose. The Kremlin must lose," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.

He added that it is within the power of those who gathered at the American air base to make the meeting a "Ramstein of tanks." Not to argue about the numbers, but to open supplies of such equipment on principle, which will put an end to Russian evil, Zelensky emphasized.

The president also asked to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles.

Today, Zelensky addressed the participants of the Ramstein format for the first time.

As reported, on January 20, the heads of defense agencies of about 50 countries, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, General Mark Milley, and Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, are participating in the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Ramstein.
