Russians shell Donetsk region 26 times over past day

Russian troops launched 26 strikes on the civilian population of Donetsk region, 16 settlements came under enemy fire.

This was reported by the liaisons department of the Donetsk regional police, according to Ukrinform.

"26 strikes on the civilian population: Russian troops attacked Donetsk region. The enemy launced attacks on 16 settlements. Civilians were injured," the report says.

It is noted that the cities of Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Kurakhove, Lyman, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, the town of Velyka Novosilka, Nelipivka, the villages of Krasnohorivka, Vesele, Ivanivske, Vremivka, Karlivka, Neskuchne, Pleshchiivka, Khromove came under fire.

The police specified that the invaders used aircraft, S-300 air defense systems, Grad and Uragan MLRS, artillery, mortars, and tanks to attack the region. As many as 29 civilian objects were destroyed and damaged - 25 residential buildings, premises of a penal colony, a non-operating electrical substation, a gas pipe, a car.

The law enforcers also reminded that 124 more people were evacuated with the help of the police over the past day (January 18). Since the beginning of mandatory evacuation - more than 35,810 people, including  5,273 children, 2,029 people with disabilities, have been evacuated.

As reported, Donetsk region is under constant Russian shelling and has problems with electricity, heat and water supply.
