Russians kill 459 children in Ukraine

As a result of Russian aggression, 459 children have been killed and 909 more injured in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office said this in a statement on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“As of January 18, 2023, over 1,368 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to data provided by juvenile prosecutors, a total of 459 children were killed and over 909 received injuries,” the statement says.

It is noted that these figures are not final as work is underway to establish them in the areas of hostilities and in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 429, Kharkiv region - 269, Kyiv region - 117, Zaporizhzhia region - 84, Kherson region - 83, Mykolaiv region - 82, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 66, and Dnipropetrovsk region - 63.

The bodies of three more children were found at the site of an apartment block in Dnipro, which was hit by a Russian missile on January 14. It emerged that three more children were injured in the attack. Overall, six children are confirmed dead and 17 injured so far.

In addition, it emerged that as a result of Russian shelling of Mariupol in March 2022, nine children, aged 5 to 17, were injured.
