Battles for Soledar ongoing around the clock, AFU repelling enemy attacks

The Russian army launched three airstrikes and about 50 missile strikes on Ukraine during the day. The Russians do not abandon their intentions to completely capture Donetsk region. Heavy battles for Soledar continue.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 14, posted on Facebook.

"The Russian invaders, having no success on the battlefield, continue to destroy the infrastructure and homes of the civilian population. They strike at populated areas, violating all the norms of international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war," the General Staff emphasized.

In general, during the day, the enemy launched three airstrikes and about 50 missile strikes.

Today, the enemy launched massive missile attacks. In the morning, the capital was attacked with S-400 (S-300) missiles from the north.

Later, the terrorist state used high-precision weapons: Kh-101/Kh-555, Kh-22 air-launched cruise missiles, Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, Kh-59 guided missiles to hit critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.

In total, the enemy fired about 28 cruise missiles and 5 guided air-to-air missiles.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with units of other components of the Defense Forces destroyed 18 cruise missiles and 3 guided air-to-air missiles.

In addition, the invaders launched 50 MLRS attacks.

The Russians do not abandon their intentions to completely capture Donetsk region. To this end, they focus their main efforts on offensive operations in Bakhmut direction. Heavy battles for Soledar continue. The Armed Forces of Ukraine repel enemy attacks around the clock. The invaders suffer heavy losses.

The enemy also goes on the offensive in Lyman, Avdiivka, and Novopavlivka directions. It tries to improve its tactical position in Kupyansk direction and defends itself in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions.

There are no significant changes in Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions. No offensive groups were identified.

The Republic of Belarus continues to participate in the Russian aggression against Ukraine, providing its territory and airspace for strikes, as well as ammunition and logistics.

The areas of Vovkivka and Kindrativka settlements in Sumy region and Starytsia, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Strilecha, Ternova, Khatnie, Topoli in Kharkiv region came under mortar and artillery fire.

In Kupyansk direction, the areas of Dvorichna, Orlianka, Kotliarivka, and Krokhmalne settlements of Kharkiv region, as well as Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region, were hit.

In Lyman direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Kreminna, and Chervonopopivka in Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut direction, Spirne, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Druzhba, and Pivnichne in Donetsk region were struck.

In Avdiivka direction, Krasnohorivka, Vesele, Avdiivka, Marinka, Vodiane, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Novopavlivka direction, the enemy shelled Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, shelling was recorded near Malinyvka, Huliaypole, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region.

In Kherson direction, Kherson and Dmytrivka in Mykolaiv region were hit with rocket and tube artillery, civilians were injured.

The enemy is redeploying to strengthen the defense capabilities of its units in the left-bank Kherson region. The movement of personnel, weapons, military equipment, and ammunition is observed.

During the day, Ukraine’s Air Force launched five strikes on enemy clusters. Missile and artillery units struck five enemy clusters and an ammunition depot.
