The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding their positions outside Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, although it no longer exists as a settlement.

Serhii Haidai, the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said this during a briefing at the Ukraine - Ukrinform Media Center.

"Quite serious hostilities are going on there. Our Defense Forces are holding their positions. They have even improved them a little and are preventing the occupation troops from advancing. But both before that and after that, the territory of the settlement of Bilohorivka was simply destroyed by intense shelling, and it is still being shelled by heavy artillery, tanks, aerial bombs, and rockets. Today, unfortunately, Bilohorivka no longer exists as a settlement," Haidai said.

According to him, Bilohorivka is a settlement of the Lysychansk community where Russian troops conducted one of the most shameful operations. They wanted to cross the Siverskyi Donets River and build a bridgehead in Bilohorivka. They were defeated there three times, about a hundred pieces of enemy equipment and 500 soldiers remained there," Haidai recalled.
