Enemy shells Zaporizhzhia region 600 times since year-start

Since the beginning of 2023, Russian aggressors have shelled peaceful cities and villages of Zaporizhzhia region more than 600 times, killing and injuring civilians.

Oleksandr Starukh, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this during a nationwide telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the year, there have been more than six hundred attacks on peaceful cities and towns: four killed and seven wounded," he said.

Starukh added that over the past day, Russian forces launched 91 strikes on Zaporizhzhia region, including 70 attacks targeting the civilian infrastructure in 19 settlements.

The region’s head noted that a checkpoint in Vasylivka is currently closed, and only two people have managed to leave on foot in the direction of Zaporizhzhia since the beginning of the year.

He also said that the Russian invaders seek to ban the circulation of the Ukrainian hryvnia in the temporarily occupied territories.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russians introduced "passes" for local residents, without which movement between temporarily occupied settlements of Zaporizhzhia region is prohibited.
