Minister Reznikov: No need for additional mobilization in Ukraine yet

Defense Minister of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov believes that there is no need to announce a new wave of mobilization in Ukraine yet, although the situation may change depending on the situation at the front.

The planned mobilization, announced on February 24, is currently underway, he said in an interview as part of the nationwide news telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"We are replenishing [personnel], we also have losses, unfortunately, we staff our combat brigades, we hire specialists we need for certain tasks, but I do not see the need for a massive mobilization as of now," Reznikov said.

When the full-scale invasion began on February 24, he noted, mobilization was announced in Ukraine, which is not complete and provides for a certain number of people determined by the relevant law.

"And we haven't even involved the one hundred percent potential foreseen," the minister emphasized.

According to him, the mobilization continues in a "calm mode", and, as Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny says, "we do not need as many people as Russian needs, but there is a need for weapons, equipment, etc."

"But, of course, the situation at the front can change in any way at any moment, so depending on how events develop, a decision will be made by the National Security and Defense Council, the President, the Verkhovna Rada, and then it will be publicly announced that we are increasing the needs of the security and defense sector and we should ramp up mobilization," Reznikov added.
