General Staff: Ukraine’s Air Force strikes enemy more than 20 times today

During the day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched more than 20 strikes on the Russian invaders, including four on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 4, published on Facebook.

As noted, the Russian troops continue to redeploy personnel, weapons, military equipment, and ammunition to the areas of hostilities. Apart from rail transport, the enemy also uses military and civilian aviation.

During the day, Russian troops hit civilian objects in the town of Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, with missiles three times. The invaders also launched nine airstrikes and 14 MLRS attacks.

In Lyman, Bakhmut, and Avdiivka directions, the Russian troops focus their efforts on conducting offensive operations. In Kupyansk direction, they try to improve their tactical position.

In Novopavlivka, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson directions, the enemy defends itself, reinforces positions, and mines the area along the left bank of the Dnipro River.

The situation in Volyn, Polissia, Siversky, and Slobozhansky directions is stable, and no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected.

In Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, areas of Karpovychi, Leonivka, and Hremyach in Chernihiv region; Novovasylivka in Sumy region; Krasne, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Vovchansk, Ustynivka, Fyholivka, and Dvorichna in Kharkiv region came under the enemy tank, mortar, and artillery fire.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the invaders shelled the areas of 15 settlements with tanks and artillery. In particular, Masiutivka, Zapadne, Kupyansk, Kotliarivka, and Berestove in Kharkiv region, as well as Ivanivka, Ploshchanka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, and Dibrova in Luhansk region were struck.

In Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, the Russians hit the areas of more than 30 settlements, including Spirne, Berestove, Vesele, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka, Donetsk region.

In Novopavlivka direction, Zolota Nyva, Vuhledar, Mykilski Dachi, and Prechystivka in Donetsk region came under fire.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops shelled the positions of the Ukrainian troops with tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery in the areas of more than 40 settlements. At the same time, the enemy does not stop terrorizing the civilian population of towns and villages located along the right bank of the Dnipro River.

The civilian infrastructure of Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Lukyanivske, and Kamyanske in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Havrylivka, Dudchany, Ivanivka, Antonivka, and Dniprovske in Kherson region were damaged by the artillery shelling of the Russian invaders.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation launched 17 strikes on the enemy clusters, as well as four strikes on the positions of the enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit an enemy command post, two manpower and military equipment clusters, as well as an ammunition depot.
