The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 13 strikes on the areas where the Russian invaders were located, and missile and artillery units hit two areas of concentration of enemy manpower and military equipment.

This is stated in a report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 1, published on Facebook.

According to the General Staff, Russian troops launched 35 air strikes during the day. In particular, the enemy used Shahed-136 drones — all of them were shot down by units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Over the past day, the invaders carried out 16 attacks using MLRS, including on the children's hospital in the city of Kherson.

The threat of enemy air strikes and missile attacks remains throughout the entire territory of Ukraine.

"The enemy, who lost 760 people yesterday alone, continues to attempt offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction and tries to improve the tactical position of its troops in the Kupiansk, Lyman and Avdiivka directions. The enemy is holding defense in the Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia directions, and is regrouping troops in the Kherson direction,” the General Staff noted.

It has been established that to destabilize the humanitarian situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region and force the local population to "voluntarily evacuate", Russian troops are firing mortars at Oleshky, Hola Prystan, Plavni, as well as cottage settlements between the specified settlements.

"Mobilization" measures are ongoing in temporarily occupied Crimea. According to the General Staff, the military commissariats have started checking the lists of people who have not yet participated in the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and are subject to conscription for "mobilization" in 2023.

As reported by Ukrinform, as of January 1, the Defense Forces eliminated about 106,720 Russian invaders in Ukraine.
