The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden is considering the possibility of sending Bradley Fighting Vehicles to Ukraine as part of a package of military support to defend against Russian aggression.

This was reported by Bloomberg, according to Ukrinform.

Sources say the final decision on the issue is yet to be made.

A White House spokesman, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the U.S. is constantly in touch with Ukraine about the capabilities the nation needs to defend against Russia, but currently has no new information that could be announced publicly.

According to Mark Cancian, a former White House defense budget analyst who now works at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Bradleys can provide a significant increase in ground combat capability because it is essentially a "light tank."

“Unlike the previously provided M113s, the Bradley is heavily armed with a powerful 25mm gun and TOW anti-tank missiles. The United States has many Bradleys, though some are older and need upgrades, so inventories are not a problem,” he noted.

It is reported that the Ukrainian side is currently asking its allies for tanks, long-range missiles, armored vehicles, and air defense systems.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that Patriot systems are included in the new package of military aid to Ukraine worth $1.85 billion. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, said that the Ukrainian military will master Patriots quickly.
