Border guards are currently seeing no signs of an offensive grouping being set up in neighboring Belarus, which would have the capacity to invade.

This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, who spoke at a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.

"The creation of the necessary offensive group, which would be ready at the moment to invade from the territory of Belarus, is not being observed. Belarus and Russia constantly escalate... by demonstrating joint training of military units, including maneuvers of equipment, combat readiness checks, and continued expansion of the regional grouping of troops of the so-called ‘allied state.’ However, its composition has not changed, and neither has the nature of its actions. The existing units rotate," said the spokesman.

He assured that the border guard units and other elements of Ukraine’s Defense Forces, which protect the border with Belarus, are ready for any developments.

According to Demchenko, the State Border Guard Service has increased defensive positions along the state border, further fortifying positions.

The spokesman emphasized that the units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces are constantly practicing interaction. The territory close to the border is being mined, video surveillance and remote monitoring system is being strengthened, while drones are being employed for reconnaissance. Such measures take place along the entire borderline with Belarus, from Volyn to Chernihiv region.

"Ukraine is well aware that Russia is trying in every possible way to engage Belarus in an open war or may try to use this direction for a second invasion," Demchenko emphasized.

As reported, the head of defense intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, said the threat of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus remained low.
