Russians demolishing historic buildings in Mariupol

Russian occupiers are demolishing historic buildings in downtown Mariupol, which has been temporarily seized by the enemy.

The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In the heart of the city, the occupiers began to demolish buildings, including those of historical significance. The famous House with a clock, where the studio of the world-known muralist and mosaics artist Arnautov used to be located. Under the excavator,” Andriushchenko wrote.

In his words, Russian invaders are turning absolutely everything of historical value into ashes in Mariupol.

A reminder that earlier Russian occupiers demolished the building of the Mariupol Drama Theater. In March 2022, Russian troops dropped a bomb on the theater building, where hundreds of people, including many children, were hiding in a bomb shelter.
