Enemy tries to attack in Kupyansk and Lyman directions

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, December 21, published on Facebook.

"The enemy continues to focus its efforts on conducting offensive operations in Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions and tries to improve its tactical position in Kupyansk and Lyman directions," the report reads.

During the day, the enemy launched three missile strikes and an airstrike on civilian objects in Zaporizhzhia region. Russian aircraft cynically struck a hospital in Huliaypole town. In addition, the enemy launched more than 20 MLRS attacks.

In Volyn, Polissia, Siversky, and Slobozhansky directions, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of the enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation continue to be stationed in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In Slobozhansky direction, the areas of Chervona Zoria, Kozacha Lopan, Vesele, Varvarivka, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Vilcha, Cherniakiv, Chuhunivka, and Ambarne settlements in Kharkiv region came under tank, mortar and artillery fire.

In Kupyansk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Novomlynsk, Kupyansk, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In Lyman direction, the enemy does not stop shelling the areas of Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka, and Dibrova in Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut direction, the areas of Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Kurdiumivka, Dyliivka, Ozarianivka, Druzhba, Pivnichne, Zalizne, and New York in Donetsk region came under fire.

In Avdiivka direction, the enemy hit Vodiane Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

In Novopavlivka direction, the enemy fired tanks and artillery at the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Novoukrainka, Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Chervonohryhorivka in Dnipropetrovsk region, Kherson city and its suburbs, and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv region came under rocket and tube artillery fire. Civilian casualties were reported.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the Russian attacks near 25 settlements over the past day.
