Armed Forces of Ukraine repel Russian attacks near 10 settlements in Donbas

Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks near 10 settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, December 20, published on Facebook.

"Over the past 24 hours, the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the occupiers’ attacks near Stelmakhivka, Chervonopopivka, Serebrianske in Luhansk region and Verkhniokamyanske, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Opytne, Kurdiumivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka in Donetsk region," the report reads.

According to the General Staff data, the enemy continues to focus its efforts on conducting offensive operations in Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, tries to restore the lost positions in Lyman directions, and holds defense in other directions.

Over the past day, the enemy launched four missile strikes, 60 airstrikes, and more than 80 MLRS attacks, affecting civilian infrastructure and population.

There is still a threat of enemy air and missile strikes on critical infrastructure facilities throughout Ukraine.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remains unchanged, no signs of the formation of offensive groups of occupiers have been detected. Certain units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation are stationed in the areas bordering Ukraine.

In Siversky direction, Tymonovychi, Karpovychi, Kostobobriv in Chernihiv region and Novovasylivka, Kindrativka, Vodolahy, Zapsillia, Yizdetske in Sumy region came under enemy mortar fire.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy launched mortar and artillery attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Strilecha, Hlyboke, Starytsia, Vovchansk, Volokhivka, Chuhunivka, and Dvorichna in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the enemy fired tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery on the areas of Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove in Kharkiv region; Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka, Dibrova in Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, the enemy continues to assault, opened fire from tanks, mortars and rocket artillery on the Ukrainian positions in the area of 30 settlements, including Verkhniokamyanske, Berestovka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy continues firing artillery on the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro River. The areas of Temyrivka, Chervone, Mali Shcherbaky, and Plavni settlements in Zaporizhzhia region and Chornobayivka, Antonivka, Kherson, Mykilske, Tokarivk,a and Mylove in Kherson region came under fire.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. It was confirmed that the enemy's permanent deployment point in the area of Chaplynka, Kherson region, was hit on December 18. Information about the enemy losses is being clarified.

Ukraine’s Air Force launched 16 strikes on the enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment clusters and six strikes on the positions of the enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. The Ukrainian air defense forces shot down two enemy helicopters over the past day.

The missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit an enemy ammunition depot, three command posts, and three manpower clusters.
