Russian troops are restoring railway infrastructure to improve logistics in the Zaporizhzhia direction and attempting to recapture the positions they have lost in the Lyman direction.

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Russian invaders are focusing efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. In other directions, the enemy is holding defense and attempting to restrain the actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched four missile strikes and opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) about 20 times. Civil infrastructure and civilians were affected.

The threat of air and missile strikes is persisting all over Ukraine.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. No signs of enemy offensive groupings being formed were detected.

In the Siverskyi direction, Russian troops launched mortar strikes on the Sumy region’s Bilokopytove.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, enemy troops are remaining in the Belgorod region’s border areas. Russian invaders used tanks, mortars and artillery to open fire on the Kharkiv region’s Chervona Zoria, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, Fyholivka, Dvorichna and Novomlynsk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy struck the Kharkiv region’s Yahidne, Kyslivka, Kotliarivka, Krokhmalne and Berestove, and the Luhansk region’s Novoselivske and Stelmakhivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian occupiers opened fire on the Luhansk region’s Makiivka, Ploshchanka, Chervonopopivka and Dibrova.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy used tanks and the whole range of artillery pieces to shell the Donetsk region’s Verkhniokamianske, Berestove, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Hryhorivka, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Kurdiumivka, Dyliivka, Ozarianivka, Pivnichne and Opytne.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops opened fire near the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy shelled the Zaporizhzhia region’s Temyrivka, Chervone, Mali Shcherbaky and Plavni, and the city of Kherson. Casualties among civilians were reported.

Russian occupiers continue to use educational institutions within the temporarily occupied areas to shield their units. In some settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region’s Vasylivka district, enemy personnel were accommodated at local schools. Meanwhile, the educational process continues, and children are attending lessons.

Mobilization efforts are underway in the Luhansk region’s temporarily occupied area. From December 5, 2022, military commissariats sent draft cards to all enterprises in the region.

The situation is similar in the Donetsk region’s temporarily occupied areas. Municipal workers are subject to mobilization in the city of Horlivka.

Over the past day, Ukrainian air forces have launched six strikes on enemy personnel, ammunition and military equipment clusters, and three strikes on air defense system positions.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery units hit two enemy ammunition depots.
