Russian forces attempting to regain lost position in Lyman direction

The Russian troops are attempting to regain the lost position in the Lyman direction. In other directions, the invaders are focusing efforts on restraining units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its evening update on December 17, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy continues to focus efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions. In the Lyman direction, the enemy is trying to regain its lost position. In other directions, the enemy is focusing efforts on restraining actions of units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces," the report says.

During the current day, the enemy carried out five missile strikes. In particular, the civil infrastructure of Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk in Donetsk region came under enemy fire. In addition, the Air Defense Forces shot down two Oniks-type missiles launched from temporarily occupied Crimea on Odesa region.

In addition, the invaders launched more than 10 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops in various directions and on the civilian infrastructure of Kherson.

There is still a threat of enemy air strikes and missile attacks on objects throughout the territory of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, on December 15, the enemy lost more than 100 wounded soldiers and an ammo depot in the areas of Tokmak and Polohy settlements. Information about eliminated invaders is being verified.

During the current day, Ukraine's missile and artillery units struck five areas of the build-up of enemy personnel, a command post and three ammunition depots.

As Ukrinform reported, soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine repelled an enemy breakthrough in the area of Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.
