Kremlin's propaganda trying to force Ukraine to talks - Defense Ministry

All the propaganda narratives that the Russians have been trying to spread in the Ukrainian media space lately are aimed at forcing the Ukrainian authorities to enter into negotiations with the occupiers.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar at a briefing held at the Military Media Center, Ukrinform reports.

According to the official, the greatest efforts of propaganda today were focused on three key topics:

  • inevitability of energy crisis in Ukraine;
  • accusations of the authorities of ignoring domestic problems; and
  • highlights of Russia’s military might.

Thus, by purposefully shelling the civilian energy infrastructure, causing the population to suffer, the enemy has a desire to provoke protest moods within Ukraine, which would force the military and political leadership of Ukraine to accept the "peaceful" proposals put forward by Russia.

"With each missile attack, Russia hopes to change the course of the war in its favor. With each missile strike, the Kremlin hopes to plunge us into total darkness. With each missile strike, the terrorist state hopes to break the Ukrainians, turning our nation into the same slaves of the system as the Russians. However, these attempts turn out to be useless, time and again,” the deputy minister said.

“Ukrainians prove to the whole world that freedom and will are part of the DNA of our nation. That is why Russia lost this war on the very day it started,” Hanna Maliar emphasized.
