The relevant statement was made by U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland during a conversation with journalists at Media Center Ukraine-Ukrinform.
According to Nuland, what is happening in Bakhmut looks like the trench warfare of World War I. The ‘mighty’ Russian army, as it was believed to be, takes the newly mobilized soldiers and forces them to come out of trenches and face death every day. This is brutality and only, Nuland stressed.
Nuland noted that this situation would affect the countries that used to build up their armies with the help of Russian defense systems.
In particular, a country like India, whose ground forces have Russian equipment, may never receive replacement parts for the purchased equipment, as Russia is using its full potential, Nuland explained.
A reminder that U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland paid a visit to Ukraine on December 2-3, 2022.
