Fifty Ukrainian defenders return home from Russian captivity

Ukraine and Russia held a prisoner swap. Fifty more Ukrainian defenders returned home.

"Today we managed to get 50 Ukrainian defenders back from Russian captivity. These are 20 National Guard members, 12 Naval Forces members, 10 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, six officers of the State Border Guard Service, two members of the Territorial Defense Forces," Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak posted on Telegram.

"It is important that we managed to return home 19 defenders of Mariupol, 12 of whom were evacuated from Azovstal steelworks, as well as 15 captives from the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and seven more from Zmiinyi Island," Yermak emphasized.

He thanked the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War for the job done and stressed that everyone would be returned from captivity.

As reported, 35 Ukrainian military personnel and one civilian were freed from Russian captivity the day before.
