A group of Russian soldiers have brutally raped a 12-year-old girl in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.

This was mentioned in an intercepted call, recently made public by the Security Service of Ukraine.

"While some invaders are fleeing Kherson, other Russians in the temporarily captured Luhansk region are showing their ‘heroism’ through more war crimes. This time, these beasts raped a 12-year-old girl. And in the captured Donetsk region, the Russians targeted a woman," the report reads.

The SBU obtained two intercepted calls in which Russian servicemen discuss these crimes.

"In short, some soldiers raped a 12-year-old girl. There were ten people, and everyone’s looking for them now. That's why they don't let anyone out into the city," the invader, who was recently mobilized in Russia and whose unit is based in Kreminna, Luhansk Region, tells a girl on the other side of the phone line.

A person mobilized from near Bakhmut complains in a conversation about restrictions on the soldiers’ movement over the same reason: "Well, in short, now we won’t be able to go out to the city or anywhere else... there are some deserters who raped a woman. They say it was either the called-up deserters or volunteers."

"As we can see, the Russians are not interested in the condition of the victims. For them, the only thing that matters is ‘going out into the city.’ Well, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will do everything to make sure that this ‘going out’ for rapists and looters will be one-way only," the SBU stressed, adding that those who survive will be held accountable by law.

The SBU recalled that the agency is systematically working to document Russian war crimes. Almost 16,000 criminal proceedings have already been launched under Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine into violation of the laws and customs of war.
