Russia would need at least a week to withdraw its troops from the city of Kherson.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to Radio Svoboda [Radio Liberty].

According to Reznikov, Russia has 40,000 troops in the Kherson region. Despite announcing retreat, there are Russian forces in the city, around the city and on the western bank of the Dnieper.

“It’s not that easy to withdraw these troops from Kherson in one day or two days. As a minimum, (it will take) one week,” Reznikov noted.

In his words, it is difficult to predict Russia’s actions, and Kyiv is focused on its own plan.

Reznikov also assumed Moscow could reinforce its military units in the neighboring region of Zaporizhzhia, which had been under Russian occupation for months now.
