There are over 2,000 unidentified bodies in Ukraine.

Deputy Interior Minister Meri Akopyan said this a briefing at the Military Media Center, Ukrinform reports.

According to her, much attention is paid to DNA tests and the development of forensic laboratories in Ukraine.

Akopyan said that the U.S. government had provided the first and the only, so far, mobile laboratory, which enables experts to conduct examinations and DNA testing at the scene of events, such as the sites of mass burials in Kharkiv region. Ukrainian investigation units and forensic scientists do their work on the spot.

The deputy minister noted that Ukraine needs several dozen more such laboratories. This will accelerate the work of experts.
