Iran admits supplying drones to Russia

Ukrinform
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said that Iran supplied drones to Russia, but it did so before the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

That's according to IRNA, Ukrinform reports.

"As for the drones, it's true, and we provided Russia with a small number of drones a few months before the war in Ukraine," Amir-Abdollahian said.

He noted that in a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart, both parties agreed on the transfer to Tehran of evidence about the use of Iranian drones in Ukraine.

"If it turns out that Russia used Iranian drones in the war in Ukraine, we will not remain indifferent to this issue. Our position on the war in Ukraine is to end the war, bring the parties back to negotiations and return refugees to their homes. Iran, at the level of the president and the minister of foreign affairs, has made a lot of efforts in this regard," Amir-Abdollahian said.

The U.S. Department of State Department earlier said that the United States would use all tools to prevent Iran from supplying weapons to Russia.
