Thirty-four torture chambers, illegal prisons discovered in areas liberated from Russians

In the territories of Ukraine liberated from the Russians, law enforcement officers discovered 34 torture chambers and prisons set up by the invaders.

"Thirty-four sites where the Russians unlawfully held and tortured citizens were found in the de-occupied areas: Kharkiv region – 24, Kherson region – 3, Kyiv region – 3, Sumy region – 2, Donetsk, Chernihiv regions – 1 each," the press service of the National Police posted on Telegram.

As of October 31, the police initiated 40,742 criminal proceedings over the crimes committed by the Russian service members and their accomplices in the territory of Ukraine.

In particular, 29,817 cases were opened over the violation of the laws and customs of war, 8,912 – encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, 1,841 – collaboration, 87 – high treason, 37 – sabotage.

According to the Children of War portal, 430 children have been killed in Ukraine, 823 more have been injured, 249 children have gone missing; 9,755 children have been deported to the Russian Federation since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

On October 7, First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yevhenii Yenin stated that virtually every town or village liberated from the Russians had a torture chamber in one form or another.
