To date, 1,077 bodies have been found in the de-occupied territories of Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions.

"I can name some figures regarding the bodies found in the regions. In Donetsk region, we have already discovered 268 bodies in the de-occupied territories, of which 175 bodies have been identified, that is, a little more than half. In Kharkiv region, 765 bodies have been discovered, of which 453 have been pre-identified. In Kherson region, 44 bodies have been found, of which three have been identified," Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyy said on the air of the nationwide telethon.

He explained that the identification process was difficult because of the need to carry out DNA analysis.

"Visually, it is already impossible to establish similarities, so the DNA of these bodies is taken, relatives file reports on the missing, then relatives submit their DNA samples, and comparison is made," the minister said, adding that the queue for DNA examination is formed already two months in advance.

The minister also noted that law enforcement officers had found torture chambers in the liberated territories set up by the invaders and it was currently impossible to outline the number of people who had passed through them.

"Twenty-three torture chambers have been discovered so far in Kharkiv region, one torture chamber – in Donetsk region, and three more – in Kherson region," Monastyrskyy informed.

As reported, a Telegram bot was created in Kharkiv region to collect evidence about the crimes committed by invaders and identify them.
