War update: Ukraine repels Russian attacks on 11 settlements

Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have repelled attacks by the invaders in the areas of Zemlianka and Chuhunivka of Kharkiv region, as well as Soledar, Bakhmut, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, Novomykhailivka, Maryinka, Nevelske, Pervomaiske, and Avdiivka of Donetsk region.

That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, improve their tactical position, focus efforts on restraining the actions of Ukraine’s forces in certain directions, and at the same time continuing offensive missions in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

According to available reports, the Russian Federation is training part of the mobilized servicemen at the combined military training grounds and in the training for certain military specialties.

The enemy is shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops along the contact line and conducting aerial reconnaissance. Over the past day, the Russian occupiers have launched missile and air strikes on the infrastructure and civilian homes, violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war.

Over the past day, the Russians carried out two missile and 28 air strikes, as well as 65 attacks involving multiple rocket launchers.

Civilian infrastructure objects were targeted in Bakhmut, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, and Novotavrycheske of Zaporizhia region.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions has undergone no significant changes.

Throughout October, measures to inspect mobilization resources have been ongoing in Belarus. Special groups have been set up at local executive bodies to clarify personal data of potential conscripts.

A threat of missile and air strikes against the critical infrastructure of Ukraine from the territory of Belarus remains in place, including involving Iranian-made one-way attack drones.

The enemy opened fire in multiple directions:

  • in the Slobozhansky direction – using tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery, in the areas of Hryhorivka, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Staritsa, Petro-Ivanivka, Figolivka, Khatne, Chervona Zorya, and Chuhunivka;
  • in the Kupyansk and Lyman directions – using tanks and artillery of various calibers, in the areas of Berestivka, Hrekivka, Zarichne, Kovalivka, Makiivka, Yampolivka, Kamianka, and Bilohorivka;
  • in the Bakhmut direction – from tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery, in the areas of Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka, Kurdyumivka, New York, Ozaryanivka, Opytne, Soledar, Spirne, and Yakovlivka;
  • in the Avdiivka region – from tanks and artillery of various types, in the areas of Avdiivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Kostyantynivka, Pervomaiske, Novomykhailivka, Maryinka, Prechistivka, Novopil, Novosilka, and Zaliznychne;
  • in the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhia directions – from barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Velyka Novosilka, Vremivka, Vuhledar, Gulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Malynivka, Mykilske, Olhivske, Pavlivka, and Shevchenko.
  • In the South Buh direction, the enemy opened fire in the populated areas near the contact line. Among them are Shevchenkove, Ternovi Pody, Myrne, Novohryhorivka, Kvitneve, Kiselyvka, Blahodativka, Novopoltavka, Bilohirka, Davydiv Brid, and Trifonivka. The infrastructure in Nikopol and Ilyinka of Dnipropetrovsk region was directly affected by jet and barrel artillery fire.

According to updates, the destruction of three BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher systems, as well as the evacuation of about seventy wounded Russian servicemen on October 22 in Mykhailivka, Zaporizhia region, has been confirmed.

In the town of Enerhodar, the Russian occupiers rotated personnel servicing the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. Further, the facts of physical and moral pressure exerted on ZNPP staffers in order to force them to sign contracts with Russia’s Rosatom Corporation are being recorded. In addition, the invaders banned the employees from leaving for the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

Ukraine’s Air Force in the past day made 11 sorties. It has been confirmed that 11 weapons and equipment clusters have been destroyed. Ukraine’s air defense units shot down 12 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

Over the past day, Ukrainian missile and artillery forces hit four enemy control points, five manpower and weapons clusters, four ammunition depots, an anti-aircraft missile system, an ​​artillery firing position, and other important enemy objects.
