About 2,000 mobilized Russians arrive in Kherson region

Up to 2,000 mobilized Russians have arrived in the temporarily captured territory of Kherson region to replenish losses and reinforce units on the front line.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, October 21, published on Facebook.

"The enemy tries to hold the temporarily captured territories, focuses its efforts on restraining the actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, the enemy does not stop trying to conduct offensive actions in Bakhmut and Avdiivka direction. Over the past day, the units of the Defense Forces repelled the Russian attacks near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, Opytne, Bakhmut, Pobeda, and Marinka in Donetsk region," the report reads.

The enemy shells the Ukrainian positions along the contact line and conducts aerial reconnaissance. Violating the norms of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of warfare, the invaders continue to strike critical infrastructure and the houses of the civilian population.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched three missile strikes and 24 airstrikes, more than 30 MLRS attacks.

The enemy struck the areas of more than 15 settlements, including Mykolaiv; Nova Kamyanka, Mala Seidemynukha (Kherson region); Hatyshche (Kharkiv region).

“The invaders used cruise and anti-aircraft guided missiles for their crimes. In addition, the enemy launched more than 20 Iranian-made Shahed-136 UAVs,” the General Staff said.

In Volyn, Polissia, and Siversky directions, the situation remains unchanged.

The enemy opened fire in the following directions:

In Slobozhansky direction: tanks, mortars and tube artillery were fired in the areas of Starytsia, Krasne, and Khatnie settlements;

In Kupyansk and Lyman directions: tube and rocket artillery were fired in the areas of Berestove, Zarichne, Nove, Pershotravneve, Stelmakhivka, Terny, and Yampolivka;

In Bakhmut direction: tanks and artillery were fired in the areas of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Zelenopillia, Spirne, Ivanhrad, and Yakovlivka settlements;

In Avdiivka direction: tanks, mortars, tube and rocket artillery were fired in the areas of Vodiane, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Pervomaiske, and Semenivka settlements.

In Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy shelled the areas of Vremivka, Vuhledar, Dorozhnianka, Neskuchne, Novodanylivka, and Stepova settlements.

Up to 20 settlements along the contact line were struck in Southern Buh direction. To conduct aerial reconnaissance, the occupiers made more than 20 sorties of UAVs of various types.

According to available information, up to 2,000 Russian mobilized troops arrived in the temporarily captured territory of Kherson region to replenish losses and reinforce the units on the contact line. At the same time, the occupation authorities issued an order to prepare evacuation of the so-called "banking institutions", evacuation lists of brought Russian medical workers and teachers were prepared. Humanitarian facilities in Kherson stop working.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation launched five strikes. It was confirmed that three enemy strongholds, the areas of weapons and military equipment build-up, and two air defense positions were hit. Ukraine’s air defense units shot down 15 UAVs.

"The missile and artillery troops hit four enemy command posts, seven areas of manpower, weapons, and military equipment build-up, an ammunition depot, an air defense system, a bridge, and a pontoon crossing," the General Staff added.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 66,650 Russian invaders from February 24 to October 20.
