Ukraine’s Air Force launches 10 airstrikes on enemy positions

Ukraine’s Air Force launched 10 strikes on Russian forces’ positions, hitting six areas of ammunition and military equipment clusters, as well as four positions of enemy air defense systems.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its latest operational update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the General Staff, as of 18:00, the enemy was trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, focusing its efforts on attempts to disrupt the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in certain directions, and was conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

The Russian forces shell the positions of Ukrainian troops along the contact line, fortifying defensive positions in certain directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance. Violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war, the enemy continues to attack the civilian infrastructure and civilian residential areas

During the current day, the occupiers launched more four missile attacks and 11 airstrikes, more than 10 MLRS attacks.

Using cruise missiles and Iranian-made attack drones, the Russian forces again launched a massive attack on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions.

On the night of October 19, five Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones were used by Russian troops to attack Uman of Cherkasy region and Kobleve of Mykolaiv region. All enemy targets were shot down by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation has not undergone significant changes. The Republic of Belarus continues to support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. Thus, during the current day, the enemy deployed nine Shahed-136 attack drones from the territory of Belarus. Eight of them were shot down by Ukrainian defenders.

In the Siverskyi direction, the invaders  struck the territory within the settlements of Hai and Khrinivka of the Chernihiv region with mortars and barrel artillery.

In the Slobozhanske direction, the Russians used mortars, barrel and jet artillery to attack the areas of Vovchansk Khutory, Terny, Krasne, Ohirtseve, Strelecha and Khanty. In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy struck the areas of Berestove, Dvorichna, Kamianka, and Kyselivka with barrel and jet artillery.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops fired mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Hrekivka, Hrianykivka, Nadia, Novoyehorivka, Zarichne, Serebrianka, Terni, Torske, and Yampolivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy used tanks and artillery to shell the districts of Andriivka, Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Bilohorivka, Mayorsk, New York, Opytne, Rozdolivka, Soledar, Spirne, and Yakovlivka.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Russian troops attacked the districts of Avdiivka, Berdychiv, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka using tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery.

In the Novopavlivske, Zaporizhzhia and Southern Bug directions, the Russians did not conduct active offensives, but instead shelled the areas of more than 45 settlements along the entire contact line.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 66,280 Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24 to October 19, including 430 over the past day alone.
