Russians jamming internet, mobile signal in Ukraine’s south to conceal troop movement

The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily occupied ground, focusing efforts on restraining the operations of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in certain directions, at the same time continuing the attempts at offensive action in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

That’s according to a war update released by Ukraine’s General Staff Wednesday morning, Ukrinform reports.

Throughout the day, Ukraine’s Army repelled enemy attacks in the Ohirtseve and Dvorichna settlements in Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; and Novokalynove, Mayorsk, Odradivka, New York, Novomykhailivka, Nevelske, Opytne, and Maryinka in Donetsk region.

The enemy has been shelling the Ukrainian positions along the contact line, while fortifying own defensive lines in certain directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance. Violating the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war, the Russians continue to strike critical infrastructure and civilian homes across Ukraine.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissia directions has undergone no significant changes. As Belarus continues to support Russia’s armed aggression toward Ukraine, the threat of missile and air strikes, as well as the launch of Shahed-136 kamikaze drones from its territory remains in place.

In the South Buh direction, the Russians are trying to improve logistical support, opening artillery fire at over 20 settlements along the contact line. The infrastructure of Vyshchetarasivka, Dnipropetrovsk region, was affected the most.

The occupiers are taking measures to covertly move military equipment and personnel. To this end, in the settlements of Tavriysk and Nova Kakhovka of Kherson region, the enemy is jamming mobile and internet signal.

According to the available intelligence, Russia is facing significant problems with financial payments to servicemen participating in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. Allowance payments are being delayed for this category of the military. Families of those killed in action are unable to receive the promised compensation.

Ukraine’s Air Force over the past day carried out 24 strikes. At least 16 manpower and weapon clusters, as well as a support point and eight positions of the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems were hit. Air defense units shot down five incoming cruise missiles and a Su-25 ground attack aircraft.

Ukraine’s missile and artillery forces hit four Russian command and control points, five manpower and weapon clusters, two air defense units, and an artillery gun, as well as two ammunition depots, an electronic warfare station, and other military targets.
