Bodies of four civilians shot by Russian forces found in Kharkiv region

The Russian military shot dead four civilians in the cellar of a private home in the Kharkiv region.

That's according to the press service of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

"According to preliminary data, in the town of Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in mid-September, Russian soldiers shot dead four civilians in the cellar of a house. Among them is the 73-year-old owner of the house and the neighboring family - a 65-year-old woman, her grandson and daughter-in-law. The deceased were buried by relatives and neighbors on the territory of their homesteads," the report said.

According to the report, law enforcement officers found bodies with signs of violent death. All of them had bullet wounds in the chest and head. Currently, they have been sent for a forensic medical examination.

Casings from a Kalashnikov assault rifle were found during the inspection of the cellar.

Investigative actions were carried out as part of criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code).
