Russia's shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure can affect other nuclear facilities as Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to plunge Ukraine and all of Europe into a dark, cold winter.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Andriy Yusov, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, according to Ukrinform.

"The latest strikes on the energy system and critical infrastructure of Ukraine are deliberate actions on the part of the aggressor, and it is quite possible to imagine other scenarios. Ukraine, for its part, is preparing for this. But it is also a challenge to the whole world, as to how actively Ukraine should be helped in matters of ensuring air defenses and missile defenses, and how actively it is necessary to put pressure on Putin's regime and block all possibilities of committing such terror. This is an unequivocal violation of the rules and norms of warfare, it is a violation of humanitarian law. Putin seeks to plunge Ukraine and all of Europe into a dark, cold winter," the spokesman said.

He added that the Russian Federation has a large number of X-22 missiles that it can launch to strike the energy infrastructure of Ukraine far behind the front line.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on Sunday, September 11, Russian troops launched missile attacks on Ukrainian combined heating power plants, as a result of which a number of regions were left without power supply for some time. Power supplies were restored within a few hours.
