This morning a powerful explosion has rocked Russia’s so-called ‘Black Sea Fleet Headquarters’ in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The relevant statement was made by Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“At 08:20 a.m., near the headquarters of ‘Russia’s Black Sea Fleet’ in the occupied city of Aqyar/Sevastopol, a powerful explosion was heard,” Chubarov wrote.

In his words, at 08:56 a.m., it was reported that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) had crashed into a building of ‘Russia’s Black Sea Fleet’ Headquarters.

According to Chubarov, Sevastopol gauleiter Mikhail Rozvozhayev confirmed that “an UAV hit the roof”. Rozvozhayev complained the UAV had not been shot down, although small arms were used over the bay. No casualties were reported.

A reminder that, in the evening of August 19, 2022, Sevastopol residents reported on explosions heard in the city. According to the Russian and Crimean mass media, Russian anti-aircraft defense systems operated over the city.

On August 18, 2022, explosions rocked the city of Kerch in the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to local occupation authorities, blast sounds were caused by the performance of anti-aircraft defense systems. Kerch residents reported they had seen missiles fired “from the sea” and flashes in the sky.
