601 more people evacuated from Donetsk region over past day

On August 17, 601 civilians received help and left Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.

"Evacuation of the population continues in Donetsk region. Over the past 24 hours, the staff of the Main Department provided assistance to 601 people, including 15 children and 22 people with physical disabilities, during the evacuation in Pokrovsk district," Donetsk Region Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted on Facebook.

As noted, 9,795 people have been evacuated from Donetsk and Luhansk regions by the employees of subordinate units of the Donetsk Region Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine since February 24, 2022.

As reported, a mandatory evacuation has begun in Donetsk region which is constantly under enemy fire, has no gas supply, and problems with water supply.

No more than 235,000 people involved in the defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure should remain in Donetsk region until the autumn-winter period, the rest should all be evacuated. Until February 24, 1,670,000 people permanently lived in Donetsk region.
