Woman killed, man injured in Russia’s shelling of Dnipropetrovsk Region

In the afternoon of August 3, 2022, Russian troops opened fire on Dnipropetrovsk Region’s Zelenodolsk community, leaving a woman killed and a man injured.

The relevant statement was made by Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Uragan-launched cluster munitions hit the Zelenodolsk community twice in the afternoon. The enemy again opened fire on residential areas. In Velyka Kostromka, a 70-year-old woman was killed. In Marianske, a 73-year-old man was injured,” the report states.

According to the regional authorities, the woman was gardening, as the Russian army struck Velyka Kostromka. She died at the scene. Over 10 detached houses were damaged in the village.

In Marianske, the man was injured in the chest. He was taken to hospital in moderately grave condition. A dozen of detached houses, two farm buildings and several vehicles were damaged there.

Rescuers are checking the area of the villages, as dangerous projectiles could have remained there.
