More than 600 civilians evacuated from Donetsk region in past day

More than 600 civilians received help and were evacuated from Donetsk region over the past day.

"During the evacuation at the railway station in the town of Pokrovsk, the staff of the Main Directorate provided assistance to 598 people, including 28 children and 12 people with disabilities," the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region posted on Facebook.

Moreover, 10 people were evacuated from New York locality of Bakhmut district over the past day.

In addition, the Main Directorate personnel provided assistance to 71 people, including 10 children and one person with disabilities, during the evacuation in the town of Toretsk.

As reported, the aggressor constantly shells Donetsk region, killing and injuring citizens, destroying the civilian infrastructure of the region. There has been no gas supply in the region and water supply in many localities for a long time. The enemy tries to break through the Ukrainian defense in several directions but fails and returns to its previous positions

No more than 235,000 people involved in the process of defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure should remain in Donetsk region by the autumn-winter period, the rest should all be evacuated. Until February 24, 1,670,000 people permanently lived in Donetsk region

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine announced that mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region has begun. The first train arrived in Kropyvnytskyi city on the morning of August 2.
