Ukraine’s Armed Forces neutralize Russian recon group near Mazanivka, prevent enemy advance towards Marinka

The Ukrainian military neutralized a Russian reconnaissance group in Slovyansk direction, repelled an assault in Bakhmut direction, and thwarted all enemy attempts to advance towards Marinka.

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, August 1, released on Facebook.

The situation in Volyn and Polissya directions has not changed significantly.

In Siversky direction, the enemy fired tube and rocket artillery on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Senkivka and Lypkivka of Chernihiv region and Stara Huta, Pavlivka, Pokrovka, and Bilopillia in Sumy region. The Russians conducted aerial reconnaissance near Hremyach and Hlukhiv. In order to counteract the technical means of intelligence, the enemy deployed electronic warfare systems.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy fired artillery on the areas of Kharkiv, Prudianka, Nove, and 14 more localities. An enemy reconnaissance group tried to expose the firing positions of the Ukrainian troops, but failed and retreated

In Slovyansk direction, the invaders opened fire from tanks and artillery on the areas of Nortsivka, Chepil, Hrushuvakha, Ridne, Virnopillia, Husarivka, Dibrivne, Dolyna, and Adamivka.

Near Mazanivka, an enemy reconnaissance group was exposed and neutralized.

In Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions due to significant manpower and equipment losses and poor morale. The Russians shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure in the areas of Siversk, Kryva Luka, Serebrianka, Ivano-Daryivka, Hryhorivka, Zvanivka, Verkhniokamyanske, and Spirne from tanks, tube and rocket artillery. The enemy launched airstrikes near Serebrianka and Hryhorivka, conducted aerial reconnaissance with drones.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired tanks and artillery near Berestove, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve, Vershyna, Kodema, Vesele, and Travneve. The Russians launched cynical airstrikes on Pokrovske, Novoluhanske, Soledar, Vershyna, Yakovlivka, Bakhmut, and Kodema.

In the area of Yakovlivka, the enemy tried to conduct reconnaissance. The invaders were exposed and suffered losses. The rest of the group fled.

The enemy tried to improve its tactical position in the areas of Soledar, Vershyna, and Bakhmut with assault actions, but failed and retreated.

As the General Staff informs, in Avdiivka direction, the enemy opened fire near Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Pisky, and Krasnohorivka, launched an airstrike near New York, assaulted the directions of Avdiivka and Pisky, had no success. Hostilities continue.

The enemy did not conduct active offensives in Novopavlivsk and Zaporizhzhia directions. Instead, the Russians systematically shelled civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of Marinka, Pavlivka, Novosilka, Novopil, Malynivka, Huliaypole, Huliaypilske, Orikhiv, and Kamyanske.

"The Ukrainian soldiers thwarted all attempts of the occupiers to advance towards Marinka. The enemy conducted aerial reconnaissance to identify our troops and adjust fire. It continues to regroup, trying to strengthen its troops in the south of Ukraine," the report reads.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy's main efforts are focused on holding previously occupied positions and preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops.

The Russians opened fire from tanks, tube and rocket artillery along the contact line, launched airstrikes near Bila Krynytsia and Andriivka, conducted aerial reconnaissance with drones.

The enemy tries to restore destroyed and damaged bridges and bridge crossings across the Dnipro River.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 41,030 Russian invaders from February 24 to August 1.
