As of August 1, due to Russia's war against Ukraine, 693 children were injured, 358 were killed, and 203 went missing. At least 5,754 children were forcibly displaced or deported.

Daria Herasymchuk, an adviser to the president's commissioner for children's rights and child rehabilitation, said this at a briefing on Monday, Ukrinform reports.

"As of today, 693 children were injured, 358 were killed, and 203 went missing. At least 5,754 were forcibly displaced and deported," Herasymchuk said.

According to her, law enforcement officers found 4,039 children who were on the missing list, and 47 children were returned from deportation. And this is given that the aggressor country declares that it displaced and deported at least 450,000 children to Russian territory.

"And they have no intention of returning our children to us. Ukraine has never faced such a threat to the life and freedom of children before. Therefore, now more than ever, it is important to receive the most comprehensive information about [children] in order to record, investigate crimes and rescue them," Herasymchuk said.
