The Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed a command and observation post of Russia’s National Guard, which attempted to conduct counteroffensive operations in the Kherson direction.

The relevant statement was made by Head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine Natalia Humeniuk during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We are not standing still, we are advancing, but these results can be announced only as they are fixed. At the same time, it was information instability in certain persons that resulted in yesterday’s counteroffensive that [Russian] occupiers attempted to launch in two directions in Beryslav District but failed. Our positions remained consolidated, strong. We continue our work, and they retreated to their positions, to the extreme line of defense they built and reinforced with concrete structures there,” Humeniuk told.

In her words, a counterbattery tactics is used now, mostly distant fighting is underway. It is unreasonable for units to approach each other due to an open terrain. Hence, shelling from afar and air strikes are used.

According to Humeniuk, over the past day, Ukraine’s aviation has struck enemy strong points five times. This significantly undermined the morale and combat positions of Russian occupiers. In addition, the Ukrainian military destroyed a command and observation post of Russia’s National Guard, which attempted to conduct counteroffensive operations.

Commenting on the situation in Enerhodar, Humeniuk noted it was tense but stable in general. The situation is dynamically changing but controlled by the defense forces.
