Russians strike Mykolaiv: Houses destroyed, hospitals and school damaged

Two residential houses have been destroyed, two hospitals and a school damaged, and 12 civilians injured in Russia’s shelling of Mykolaiv today.

The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In general, 24 craters from rockets have been found across the city. Rashists were shelling Mykolaiv with S-300 and MLRS from the temporarily occupied areas of Kherson Region. A total of 12 civilians received injuries of different degrees,” Sienkevych wrote.

In his words, a two-storey house was destroyed in fire. The neighboring buildings were damaged by the debris and blast wave. In a five-storey apartment block, one of rockets destroyed floor structures from floor 5 to floor 3.

One of buildings of the Mykolaiv-based secondary school was destroyed completely. Windows and doors were broken in the rest of school premises.

Two hospitals were damaged. Windows were broken, and the ceiling got destroyed in some premises. Similar destructions were recorded in bank and post office premises.

Mykolaiv’s public transport was also affected by the enemy shelling. Five trolleybuses can no longer be repaired.

In addition, Russian projectiles hit a fishing enterprise, causing damage to its premises and vehicles.

A reminder that, early in the morning of July 12, 2022, Russian troops struck the city of Mykolaiv with rockets.
