Invaders mortar part of Sumy region bordering Russia

The enemy fired mortars at populated areas of the Shalyhynska territorial community. The reports about the destruction and casualties are being verified.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the chief of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, broke the news on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The night of July 10 was quiet, which I can’t say about yesterday evening and this morning in the Shalyhinska community. Around 22:30 local time, six machine gun shots came in from the Russian side. And from 5:30 in the morning, the enemy opened mortar fire. Twenty-five arrivals," the official reported.

According to Zhyvytskyi, at almost 5:00 on Sunday, 20 more arrivals were reported in another settlement within the same community.

Also, at 6:00, the Russians fired four machine gun rounds and about four rounds from an automatic grenade launcher.

The data on damage to local infrastructure and casualties  is being clarified.

As reported by Ukrinform, last day, July 9, the Russians shelled three communities across Sumy region. In particular, 14 missiles were fired at the Shalyhinska community from an airplane that remained in the Russian airspace.
