Ukraine’s Armed Forces repulse attempted offensives in three eastern directions
This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, July 8, published on Facebook.
The units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus reconnoiter in Volyn and Polissya directions, intensify countermeasures against technical means of intelligence, primarily unmanned aerial vehicles.
"In Belarus, the closure of airspace over the southern part of the country has been extended until October 7. The ban on civil aviation flights has been in effect since February 24," the report reads.
There are no significant changes in Siversky direction.
In Kharkiv direction, the enemy conducts defensive operations and tries to improve its tactical position in certain areas. The invaders fired tube and rocket artillery on Kharkiv city and its outskirts, as well as the areas of the localities of Udy, Dementiyivka, Lebyazhe, Pishchane, Zamulivka, Petrivka, Pytomnyk, Mospanove, Korobochkyne, Slatyne, Svitlychne, Shevelivka, Peremoha, Verkhniy Saltiv, Nove, and Bayrak. Near Dementiyivka, the Ukrainian defenders twice repelled enemy assaults and pushed Russians back. The enemy launched an airstrike near Petrivka.
As noted, in Slovyansk direction, the enemy tries to improve its tactical position. The areas of Dolyna, Mazanivka, Krasnopillia, Husarivka, Novopavlivka, Chervone, Virnopillia, and Khrestyshche came under mortar, tube and rocket artillery fire. The offensive actions of the enemy in the area of Bohorodychne were choked by fire damage. The Russians retreated with losses.
In Kramatorsk direction, the enemy shelled civilian and military infrastructure in the areas of Siversk, Serebrianka, Karpivka, Slovyansk, and Kryva Luka. An airstrike was recorded near Tetianivka.
The General Staff informed that the Defense Forces of Ukraine inflicted heavy fire damage on enemy positions in Verkhniokamyanske area, forcing enemy units to withdraw from the locality.
In Bakhmut direction, the enemy shelled Ukrainian positions near Spirne, Ivano-Daryivka, New York and in the area of the Vuhlehirsk TPP. The invaders launched airstrikes near Berestove and Pokrovske.
With the support of artillery and operational-tactical aviation, the invaders unsuccessfully tried to go on an offensive in the areas of Spirne and Ivano-Daryivka. They suffered losses and retreated.
Fighting continues near Vesela Dolyna.
In Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions, mortar, tube and rocket artillery strikes are ongoing along the contact line. The enemy launched airstrikes near Novoandriivka.
The enemy units tried to conduct offensive actions in the area of Velyke Artakove in the Southern Buh direction. Ukrainian soldiers quickly suppressed this attempt and pushed the invaders back. There is a great threat of missile strikes on the region's critical infrastructure.
"The enemy naval group continues to perform tasks in the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, the civilian shipping is still blocked in the northwestern part of the Black Sea," the report reads.
As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 36,900 Russian soldiers from February 24 to July 8.
