The Kremlin is waging attrition warfare and has focused efforts to gain full control over Luhansk Region, but this objective has not been completed yet. In addition, the enemy is attempting to reach the geographical borders of Donetsk Region.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Deputy Minister Hanna Maliar during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“According to the data from the Chief Intelligence Directorate, the security situation around Ukraine is remaining challenging. The Kremlin has not abandoned any of its strategic goals regarding our state. Considering the scale, objectives and time frame of the so-called ‘special operation’, Russia is now waging attrition warfare. At the moment, the enemy’s main efforts are focused on establishing full control over Luhansk Region, which has not been achieved yet. Today the most challenging situation is in such directions as Sloviansk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut. The enemy is attempting to reach the geographical borders of Donetsk Region,” Maliar told.

According to the Ukrainian intelligence, in the Kharkiv and Balakliia directions, Russian troops will continue to prevent Ukrainian forces from advancing towards the state border. They will also continue to maintain control over logistic supplies on the Belgorod-Kupiansk route.

A reminder that, according to the Chief Intelligence Directorate, Russian occupation forces will attempt to conduct offensive operations in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and encircle the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
