Russia's war in Ukraine affects over 953 children
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a statement posted to Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"More than 953 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. As of the morning of June 27, 2022, the official number of child victims over the past day has not changed - 339. The number of those injured has increased to over 614," the report states.
These figures are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas, the Prosecutor General's Office said.
Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (335), Kharkiv Region (179), Kyiv Region (116), Chernihiv Region (68), Luhansk Region (57), Kherson Region (52), Mykolaiv Region (48), Zaporizhzhia Region (31), and Sumy Region (17).
A total of 2,061 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia's daily air and artillery strikes, and 213 of them were destroyed completely.
