M142 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, supplied by the United States as part of security assistance to Ukraine, are already operating at the front lines.

That’s according to Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

“M142 HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems are already working towards Ukraine's defense. Artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine skillfully hit certain targets - military targets of the enemy on our, Ukrainian, territory,” the top commander wrote on Telegram.

He also thanked the American people for providing the said weapons, adding that Ukraine’s “goal is Victory.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 23, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said HIMARS launchers had already arrived in Ukraine.

On June 1, the U.S. administration announced it would provide Ukraine with HIMARS high-mobility artillery missile systems with ammunition that could hit targets at a range of 70 km (maximum range for this type of weapon is 300 km), although Ukraine had requested long-range missiles.
