Enemy mines banks of Inhulets River to prevent possible Ukrainian advance

Russian forces mined the banks of the Inhulets River to obstruct a possible advance of Ukrainian troops in the Southern Buh area.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its latest war update published on Facebook.

As of 06:00 on June 5, the aggressor continued to launch missile and air strikes on military and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, including in Kyiv, the report said.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the threat remains of the enemy launching missile and air strikes from Belarusian territory. The terms of the combat readiness check of the Belarusian armed forces have been extended until June 11, 2022. As part of these measures, a control and tactical exercise was conducted in the Brest region involving units of a special forces brigade of the Belarusian armed forces.

In the Sivershchyna area, the aggressor fired artillery shells at infrastructure facilities in the areas of the settlements of Starykove and Katerynivka, Sumy region, as well as the settlement of Kamianska Sloboda, Chernihiv region.

To clarify the location of the positions of Ukrainian troops, the enemy conducted air reconnaissance using UAVs in certain areas of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

In the Kharkiv direction, enemy units continue to focus their efforts on maintaining their positions and preventing the further advance of Ukrainian troops to the state border. The enemy does not stop firing on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the city of Kharkiv.

Russian occupiers used phosphate munitions outside the settlement of Cherkaski Tyshky.

In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy groups completed the regrouping of troops. Certain units are advancing in the directions of Dovhenke - Dolyna and Brazhkivka – Vernopillia.

In the Donetsk direction, the aggressor's units are focusing on offensive operations to surround Ukrainian troops in the areas of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk and to block the main logistics routes.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy is advancing in the direction of Sviatohirsk, trying to push Ukrainian troops to the right bank of the Siverskyi Donets River.

In the Sievierodonetsk direction, the occupiers, with the support of artillery, are conducting assault operations in the city of Sievierodonetsk, controlling the eastern part of the city. In addition, in order to capture the dominant heights, the enemy is trying to launch an offensive in the direction of Nyrkove - Mykolaivka.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy transferred more than 20 units of weapons and military equipment to replenish the units that suffered casualties.

In the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the occupiers are firing on the front line of defense and the rear areas of Ukrainian troops, in order to restrain Ukrainian units and prevent their regrouping.

Five carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles are ready to be used in the Black Sea.

Over the past day, five enemy attacks were repelled in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions, three tanks, four artillery systems, eleven armored combat vehicles, and 26 vehicles were destroyed. Air defense units shot down a Ka-52 combat helicopter and two Orlan-10 UAVs.
