In Luhansk region, the situation remains steadily difficult but under control.

“The situation remains difficult for us because the Russian army is still trying to break through the line of defense on all sides, to reach Lysychansk in the area of Zolote, Toshkivka, to break through the line of defense from Popasna and Komyshuvakha in order to cut off the highway, or from the other side, from Bilohorivka, in the same way… Therefore, the situation remains, as the military says, steadily difficult but under control," Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai said during the nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As noted, the Russian invaders now have one goal: to completely capture the town of Sievierodonetsk as the administrative center of Luhansk region.

"Of course, they have a huge goal, and now the town of Sievierodonetsk is the best target. But during the night that passed, they had no success in Sievierodonetsk, although they reported that they had occupied and now controlled the entire town. Unfortunately, they really control most of the town, but they do not control the whole town. The fighting continues," Haidai said.

He also noted that Ukrainian defenders had launched small counterattack operations yesterday in Sievierodonetsk and managed to push back the enemy on certain streets and even take prisoners.

As reported, Russian troops try to establish full control over Luhansk and Donetsk regions, but this goal has not been achieved so far.
