Enemy gaining foothold in center of Sievierodonetsk

Russian troops begin to gain a foothold in the center of Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region.

This is stated in the latest report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, June 1, published on Facebook.

In Sievierodonetsk direction, the aggressor carried out assault operations in the northern, southern, and eastern districts of the town of Sievierodonetsk.

In Volyn and Polissya directions, the units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus continue to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border in Brest and Gomel regions.

In Siversky direction, the enemy units equip positions in the areas of Bryansk region, at a distance of about 3km from Ukraine’s border.

The aggressor struck Bilopillia, Sumy region, from Su-35 aircraft. Enemy artillery fire damaged the area of Seredyna-Buda locality, Sumy region.

In Slobozhansky direction, the enemy continued to focus its efforts on holding positions and conducting reconnaissance.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy fired from rocket and tube artillery on Oleksandrivka, Slatyne, and Tsyrkuny, launched strikes from helicopters and aircraft on the areas of Vesele and Ternova.

In Slovyansk direction, the enemy regrouped its troops. Having suffered losses, the enemy withdrew some units in the area of Dovhenke to the town of Izium for replenishment. In order to strengthen the protection and defense of logistics routes, the enemy strengthened the group in the village of Kupyansk by redeploying a battalion tactical group. The invaders reconnoiter the Ukrainian positions with the help of Orlan-10 UAV in the areas of Izium, Pervomaysk, and Velyka Komyshuvakha.

In Donetsk direction, the aggressor's units, with the support of the air force, focus their efforts on conducting offensive operations.

In order to inflict losses and deplete the personnel of Ukraine troops, the enemy fires along the line of contact from mortars, artillery, and MLRS. The enemy repaired a railway bridge crossing in the area of Kupyansk to restore the logistics supply along Kupyansk–Lyman railway branch.

In Lyman direction, the enemy reinforced units and regrouped them. With the support of Ka-52 helicopters, the enemy launches an offensive in the direction of Lyman–Staryi Karavan, the fighting continues.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy tries to oust the Ukrainian units from their positions near Bilohorivka and Vrubivka. The invaders used assault and army aircraft in the area of Komyshuvakha, Berestove, and Nyrkove.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy improved the fortifications of the second line of defense.

In Avdiivka, Kurakhove, and Novopavlivsk directions, the enemy holds the occupied positions, inflicts fire damage with mortars and artillery.

In the Southern Buh direction, the enemy's main efforts are focused on holding the occupied positions and creating additional lines of defense. In the area of Mykolayivka, Novopavlivsk, and Shyroke, the enemy opened massive fire from MLRS, artillery, and mortars.

In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation continue to isolate the area of hostilities and block shipping.

Over the past 24 hours, nine enemy attacks were repulsed in Donetsk and Luhansk directions. Two enemy tanks, 13 artillery systems, eight armored personnel vehicles, and six vehicles were destroyed. In Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, the Russian occupiers lost about seventy personnel and military equipment.
