Russian military kill 243 children in Ukraine

A total of 243 children have been killed and over 444 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of May 30, 2022, over 687 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, 243 children were killed and over 444 injured,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in Donetsk Region (153), Kyiv Region (116), Kharkiv Region (109), Chernihiv Region (68), Luhansk Region (52), Kherson Region (52), Mykolaiv Region (47), Zaporizhzhia Region (29), Sumy Region (17), the city of Kyiv (16) and Zhytomyr Region (15).

On May 29, 2022, a 9-year-old girl was killed in Russia’s shelling of Myroliubivka, Kherson Region. Two more children, a 7-month-old baby and a 5-year-old girl, were injured.

On May 26, 2022, a 16-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of Lysychansk, Luhansk Region.

On May 25, 2022, a 3-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of Studenok, Kharkiv Region.

A total of 1,888 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine as a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, and 180 of them were destroyed completely.
