Seven wounded in Russia's shelling of Mykolaiv

One person was killed and seven others were wounded, two of them in critical condition, after Russian forces shelled residential areas in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv early on May 28.

Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"As of 18:30, seven people are known to be injured, two of them in critical condition. One woman died - she was an employee of our utility company. She worked as a janitor and was cleaning up a yard in the morning," he wrote.

The mayor noted that shells exploded in the yards of apartment blocks. The shelling attack damaged eight apartment buildings. These are mainly windows (more than 200) and front doors. The shrapnel also damaged property in the apartments and cars parked in the yards.
